I am so proud of everyone this week you have all done so well. Me, not so much! I kept faithfully to my 1400 calories and 50 grams of fiber. I wasn't able to do all my excercises Mon, tues, Wed, but I made up for it on the weekend. I did 2 hours on Thursday, 1 1/2 hours on Friday. (Taun I can see how you can become addicted to it!). BUT, I GAINED 2 POUNDS! That stinks, but I had fun and felt so content with myself in counting calories and fiber and I am sore in places I forgot I had muscles in! Maybe next week will show a better weight loss. This is not supposed to be easy!

I'm sure you've been gaining muscle too!

ReplyDeleteWendy if you're pretty sure you ate enough (at least 1200 cals) and didn't go over 1400 cals, I'm prety sure you DID lose fat weight. However, I think it's important to figure out what the gain is. Maybe you hit it so hard the few days before weigh-in you got dehydrated and then retained all the water you drank. Also, are you, ummm, moving all that fiber you're eating? Fiber could easily be bloating you if your body hasn't regulated yet.
I don't want to burst anybody's bubble, but I also want to keep it real. It is EXTREMELY hard to gain muscle weight, and if we do, we would've burned a lot of FAT to make the new muscle. Exercising our muscles is a very important part of getting healthy and helps us burn (some)calories. But if you have more than 15 lbs to lose, burning fat should be emphasized.
Keep hitting your target cals, and get a sweat goin' for 30+ min each day, then trust your body to burn the fat. If you've done that then the gain is irrelevant (water, hormones, irregularity, sodium). I LOVE your positive attitude! Have you found a cardio that you can sustain in the fat burning mode? I think your calories OUT needs tweaking.
Thanks Dacia. I checked out fitness pal and I have been keeping better track of both calories in and out. I think I am doing well on the eating, but it is so hard for me to keep my heart rate up to where I need it to be to burn the fat. I have to run and my body is rebeling. I have been going slow so I don't injure myself again. I have been running 5 min and walking 30 every day this week. I just don't feel that I am working hard enough! The fiber has kept me full...in more ways than one. Things are regulated better this week! Hope it shows on the scales!
